Wi-Fi Hot Spot Community Portals Launching in NYC
Partnering with The Wi-Fi Salon and with The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, Portalize will be launched at several locations in nine New York parks in 4 boroughs. Portalize will be available wirelessly at Battery Park, Washington Square Park, Union Square Park, Riverside Park at 79th St, Central Park at Summerstage, The Sheep Meadow, The Dairy, The Boathouse, Seneca Village, and The Children's Zoo, The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, The Delacorte Theatre, Prospect Park at The Picnic House and the Boat House, in Corona Flushing Meadows at The USTA Center, in The Bronx at the golf houses in Van Cortlandt and Pelham Bay Park, and at Orchard Beach.
In some cases Portalize will support a real community - the local businesses, schools, and non-profits - and in others, it will offer a virtual community organized around an interest specific to the location, as with the USTA or Children's Zoo portal.
Portalize is your means of organizing your community, whether on the web or in your neighborhood. Online, you can organize a community around a hobby or interest like outsider art or emergency training for first responders, or build an intranet for your business to communicate with your customers, distributors and suppliers, or create a community portal for your non-profit. At Wi-Fi Hot Spots, Portalize becomes a wireless interactive reference guide for your neighborhood - where to dine, or shop, and what to do - and a feature rich suite of tools to help local businesses run more efficiently and promote their products and services more effectively.
